**Please revise according to your child's needs.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

There is a child in your child's classroom, who has a severe allergy to milk and milk products.  Even exposure to a tiny amount of this item could be potentially very serious and life threatening.  We can all play a role in preventing such a dangerous and frightening situation at school.  The specific child and his family must take responsibility to avoid exposure.  However, all staff, children and families can also help to make the school environment safer.  Your assistance is needed to:

1. Please contact me before sending any food to be shared with the class for celebrations.

2. Please check the list of ingredients on items you send to school.  Avoid sending in foods containing casein and whey with your child.  Please do not send ANY snacks to school with dairy or cheese products.  This includes: all kinds of yogurt (even in a tube), milk, cheese flavored Doritos, Cheetos, Cheese with crackers. cheese balls, cheese doodles, cheese curls, goldfish, etc.  We greatly appreciate you helping us create a safe environment for all of our students.

3. Teach your child to understand that this is a serious situation and discourage teasing of this child.

This may be an inconvenience for you, but realize how important your assistance is.  We would take the same care should your child have such a health care need.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
