"Alternative Approaches to Allergies"

Meeting Minutes:
1. Nicole referenced a book call "Say Good-Bye To Illness" written by Dr. Nambudripad. NAET, Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique is an innovative treatment for allergies that is completely natural, painless and non-invasive.
2. Nicole's office does not claim to cure anaphylactic allergies, in fact, if someone is anaphylactic, they usually have other milder allergies, and we focus on those. We have some patients already that are anaphylactic, and even after we treat the substance they are anaphylactic to, we tell them they should NEVER try to eat or touch that substance.
3. Nicole stated an individual can be allergic to anything: foods, drinks, pharmaceutical drugs, herbs, vitamins, water, clothing, jewelry, chemicals, paint, silicone, latex, plastic, pollen, grasses, etc.
4. In NAET, allergies are viewed from a holistic perspective based on Oriental Medical principles and defined in terms of the effect an allergic substance has on the energy flow in the body.
5. Nicole explained that when contact is with an allergen, it causes blockages in the energyt pathways called meridians. This energy blockage causes interference in communication between the brain and body via the nervous system which begins the chain of events that can develop into an allergic response.
6. By reprogramming the brain and removing the blockages from energy pathways, NAET allows the body to regain perfect balance (homeostasis) and function normally to reach optimum health.
7. Twenty percent of their practice are children and Smithtown Accupunture Center PC usually does not perform accupuncture until the age of 15. Certain Insurance is accepted. Please call to verify.
8. Smithtown Accupunture Center PC has the most experience on Long Island with doing the NAET. This is important because when treating severe allergy cases, you need a lot of experience and exposure to Dr. Nambudripad's classes. Also, it is very important to work with practitioners who are 1. very familiar with treating kids and 2. very familiar with treating people that are also anaphylactic.
